Collecting and using personal information
By "personal information" we mean information that is unique to an individual, such as a name, address, or telephone number. From time to time, we may request personal information from you at our site in order to give you access to requested content, respond to your questions, or deliver a product or service. If you are being sponsored by your employer, we may ask you to provide specific personal information (such as employee number or ID number), required of us by your employer in order to approve your registration. Different elements of this information are used by us to validate your registration and to facilitate your interaction with our customer service representatives and instructors.
When you visit our site, we also collect certain information that does not identify you personally, but provides us with "usage data," such as the number of visitors we receive, what pages are visited most often, and what browser and domain name you are using. This data helps us to continuously improve the usefulness of the services we provide.
Should you send us e-mail, we may share your communications with our customer service representatives and those employees or agents most capable of addressing your questions and concerns. We will retain your communication until we have done our best to provide you with a complete and satisfactory response and then we will either discard it or, in some cases, archive it.
Links to other sites
From time to time this site may provide links to other sites, not owned or controlled by us, that we think might be of interest to you. We cannot, however, be responsible for the content of, or privacy practices used by, other site owners.
Your responses to the course evaluation, or any evaluation or survey in which you voluntarily participate, will be stored in a database for internal quality control and used by trainers, facilitators, instructional designers, learning strategists, or customer service representatives. Where you are being sponsored by your employer, the evaluations may also be made available to an authorized representative of that employer. Your comments may also be used in the marketing of our services, but we will not attribute such comments to you personally unless we first obtain your express permission to do so.

This information is protected by Britefire in the same way as any other personal customer information. If you no longer wish to receive e-mail from the lists to which you subscribed, you will be removed once you request such removal by sending details an e-mail, or by following the instructions for unsubscription included in every mailing.
Like most commercial websites, we may also use what is known as "cookie" technology. A cookie is a nonexecutable element of data that a website can send to your browser when you link to that site. Most browsers provide a simple procedure that will enable you to control receipt of cookies by notifying you when a website is about to deposit one. We do not engage in the practice known as profiling, nor do we collaborate with or engage the services of any companies that do.
When you register for a course or service, or access your account information, we use a secure server implementing the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to interact with you when you provide personal information during the purchase and payment processes. This state of the art technology encrypts your information so that a third party cannot read the information while in transit. Furthermore, all the customer data we collect is protected against unauthorized access by a firewall and a tight access control list. If you provide personal credit card data, you will engage with a reputable secure third-party to make the transaction, and no card data will be collected or retained on our site or in our databases.
We will never solicit any personal financial data from you via e-mail. Should you ever receive any e-mail that purports to come from us requesting such confidential data, please do not respond to it and instead notify us immediately.
