 | Web Project Management course to be run by South African digital strategy firm Britefire.
Next week digital strategy firm Britefire will run an intensive two-day course, Web Project Management, that teaches the fundamental principles, tools, and disciplines of managing web projects. The course is run by a project leader with a depth of experience in managing both micro-projects for small businesses and complex large-scale web projects for US organisations such as Intel, Marriott International and Lockheed Martin.
Karen Parkin, Britefire’s Vice President, said “Eight out of ten web projects fail to achieve their objectives, and they all fail before a line of code is written. Most often, that’s because web projects are not professionally defined or managed. Doing this stuff by the seat of your pants is no longer an acceptable methodology, especially as the disciplines and tools of Project Management are so robust and reliable. Anyone charged with managing a web project really needs to make sure that it is clearly defined and fully specified, and that it is managed in a way that gives it the very best chance of successful completion. If you want to get things done, and done right, on time and within budget, there is only one way to do it, and that’s within a project framework. The relevant skills are easily learned, as is their application in a web project environment.”
This pragmatic and down to earth course will teach participants what makes projects invaluable for any web based initiative and what makes project managers worth their weight in gold. Based on the very latest thinking and experience in the US and UK, this course provides up-to-date rigorous skills and knowledge for anyone who is planning to become certified in Project Management. All course participants will benefit from a wealth of indispensable real-world examples, exercises, and take-away materials.
The Web Project Management course will be run in Johannesburg on May 28-29 and in Cape Town on June 4-5.
