Curriculum Creator and Leader
The curriculum is lead by Godfrey Parkin, a fifteen-year veteran of the European and US e-marketing industries. He ran the global business services operation of international market research giant A.C. Nielsen for many years before that, and has taught strategy, innovation, analytical marketing and e-marketing to marketing consultants, brand and marketing executives and ad agency personnel in more than three dozen countries.
He has run successful e-businesses on both sides of the Atlantic. He authored the popular e-book Web Savvy, created North America's best-selling enterprise-wide e-learning series E-biz Insights, and built the largest Project Management e-learning company in the US. His popular 2008 book Doing Business Digitally was specifically written for South African executives, and his latest book Digital Marketing was published in Europe and the USA in 2009.
Godfrey is a faculty member of University of Stellenbosch Business School - Executive Development (USB-ED) where he leads the Programme in Online Marketing Strategy. He is an active participant in the International Society for Performance Improvement, and has for many years moderated several online social networks, including the E-learning Forum of the American Society for Training and Development. He is a regular member of the judging panel for the annual Brandon Hall Learning Excellence Awards, and has contributed to the design of several industry certification programmes (the first being the Diploma Course of the South African Market Research Association back in the 1980s).
He speaks at conferences around the world, and contributes to several journals, newsgroups and leading-edge blogs. Godfrey has advised many organisations around the world, including American Express, Honda, Nestlé, Cisco Systems, Credit Suisse and the Georgia Institute of Technology – covering fields as diverse as the FMCG, automotive, financial services, retail, telecommunications, education & training, technology, media, government, and travel industries.
