Levels of Certification

E-Marketing Professional Certificate Levels of Certification

There are two levels of certification:

E-Marketing Professional (EMP) Certificate

Courses: You participate in five one-day courses. Depending on your availability and the training schedule, you may be able to take courses back to back in one week. Or you may choose to take them spaced out over the available period.

Exam: You may take this at any time after completing your last course. The only requirement is that you complete your certification exam within six months of taking your first course. Things change rapidly in the online world and your exam is always based on the current state of the art, not on the content of the course you took months earlier.

Assessment: You will be required to document your engagement in a relevant e-marketing initiative that demonstrates your ability to apply some of your learning. You propose the topic and nature of this part of your certification process, and it will be mutually agreed to not overly impose on your workload.

E-Marketing Professional Gold Certificate

A Gold Certificate adds to the scope of the regular EMP certificate. You may upgrade to a Gold certificate by taking a two-day specialist course in Web Project Management in addition to the five courses you take from the core curriculum. Gold certificates convey all of the competencies of the E-Marketing Professional certificate plus additional expertise, or additional specialist competencies in Web Project Management.

Courses: You elect to participate in five one-day courses plus a two-day specialist course (Project Management). You take the courses as rapidly as your time and the training schedule allow, or spread them out over as long as the available period allows.

Exam: You will be tested on all of the core course areas you elected to take as well as on your chosen specialist course. Note that the exam is based on the current state of the art, not on the content of the courses you participated in months earlier. You may take this exam at any time after completing your final course, but you must complete it within six months of taking your first course.

Assessment: You will be required to document your engagement in a relevant e-marketing initiative that demonstrates your ability to apply some of your learning. You propose the topic and nature of this part of your certification process, and it will be mutually agreed to not overly impose on your workload.
