Social Media Marketer

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies and tactics to achieve specific marketing goals (internal and client)
  • Lead the development of organisation-wide social media management standards, policies and rules of engagement for social media
  • Define key performance indicators and implement measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to track success
  • Mentor and provide training to communication and management professionals in client and partner companies on best practices for creating, managing, monitoring, and developing socially networked marketing
  • Identify relevant ways to integrate social media into business strategies and marketing campaigns
  • Build and develop relevant socially networked communities 
  • Develop and implement strategies for growing engagement and leveraging it to achieve marketing goals
  • Represent brands in relevant social media, grow conversation and define and implement targeted campaigns
  • Apply market research and development methods to learn and understand emerging trends and technologies and to communicate this knowledge clearly and concisely

  5. What are the differences between the context for traditional web channels and the context for social media?
  6. Explain the following concepts: iFrames, The Social Graph, Social Stories and The Edgerank algorithm
  7. Please provide as many of the below as possible

  • any other social media contact points you think are relevant

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree and three to five year's experience in advertising, communications, marketing, or public relations
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles and basic competence with Photoshop
  • Technical experience, with basic HTML and good understanding of HTML, CSS and iFrames
  • Demonstrated experience and a passion for all major social media platforms and tools 
  • Experience with common online management, monitoring and measurement platforms 
  • Experience with defining and implementing content strategies 
  • Ability to act as a brand champion
  • Confidence with using data
  • Experience using: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 2007 or 2010, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, MS Project
  • Knowledge of usability best practices

Employees: we are looking for creative, dynamic individuals to join our team who can take on the job of marketing, selling, and administering the business. Initially, these may be half-day contract positions that will become full time staff positions in the future. We are a Cape Town based business, but we like to operate virtually. Other than the administrative assistant, who will have to be able to commute to the Hout Bay area, you will typically work from home. (See below for list of currently open positions)

Contractors: we are interested in contracting only the best independent trainers and consultants who are already experienced in any of the fields in which we operate: e-business, e-marketing, project management, corporate learning, sales and executive professional development. We will be needing people who we can train to run our courses flawlessly, and who can commit a certain number of active training or consulting days every month to Britefire. We particularly want to hear from experienced consultants based in South African regions other than Cape Town, Johannesburg or Durban, or in other parts of Africa (especially SADC), who can help us make our services accessible to a wider market at viable prices and in local languages.

Contractors and business partners: In 2010 we will be expanding Britefire's services further into Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australasia, and Latin America. We would like to make contact with potential independent contract trainers and consultants, as well as potential corporate business partners who are experienced in any of the fields in which we operate: e-business, e-marketing, project management, corporate learning, sales and executive professional development. We particularly want to hear from experienced consultants based in Argentina, Brazil, China and India who can help us take our services out to a wider market.
